The girls varsity cross country team competed in the Regional meet at Algonac High School on Saturday and finished 3rd place overall and qualified for the MHSAA State finals meet on Saturday November 3rd at the Michigan International Speedway. Sophomore Sophie Novak won the race and became the ladie dragons first ever Regional champion for cross country. Senior Allison Sherman finished 6th overall to earn an individual medal. Allison also made school history by becoming the first lady dragon to qualify for the cross country state finals 4 times. Making a big impact and helping the team finish in 3rd place and running in the state finals next weekend is senior Olivia Ames, juniors Abby Locke and Marissa O’Leary, sophomore Iris Meech, and freshman Leah O’Leary.
