On Saturday September 22nd the girls cross country team got redemption on a course they ran last year. The girls competed in the Linden Classic. While last year the temperatures were very hot, this year was perfect weather. Most of the girls on the entire team ran their season best times.

In the varsity race the girls won for the second year in a row. In lieu of trophies, Linden High School will donate $100 in our team name to an organization of our choice. This year the team chose to donate to Michigan Animal Rescue League. The teams winning performance was lead by Sophie Novak who finished 2nd overall, and Allison Sherman closely on her heals finishing in 4th place. Medals were earned to the top 35 finishers. Other medalist were Iris Meech (14th), Marissa O’Leary (20th), Abby Locke (21st) and Olivia Ames(24th).

The JV girls also ran a fantastic race. They finished 2nd place overall. Medals were earned to the top 30 finishers. Our medalists were Leah O’Leary (5th), Alayna Tish (17th), Emma Komminars (18th), Sophia Archer (20th), Adelle Barrett (23rd), Sophia Koppi (24th), and Lindsey Smiles (30th).
