Athletes of the Week

Oakland County Championships-Friday, May 24th

4th Place – 44 pts.

The Dragons had two Oakland County Champions today, Senior Thomas Moreman, in the 110m High Hurdles, and Junior Andrew Nolan in the 3200m Run.  Andrew set a personal record of 9:32.51.

Other scorers were Senior Sebastian Marku placed 4th in the Shot Put, Senior Zach Dinverno, 4th, in the Pole Vault, with Junior Nicholas Campbell 8th.  Senior Savion McHenry was 3rd in the Long Jump, while Junior Amaru Abdul-Raheem was 7th.

The 4 x 100m Relay, consisting of Dillon Altman, Joseph Thede, Amaru Abdul-Raheem, and Matthew Freeman, was 6th place, and the same group ran 7th in the 4 x 200m relay.

9th Grade Oakland County Meet

Saturday, May 26th

4th Place – 38 pts.

No first places for the Dragons, but some really good performances in a variety of events.

Joseph Thede, after running the previous night in the Varsity Oakland County Meet, came back for a full day of competition at the 9th Grade Oakland County Meet.  Joe placed 3rd in the 200m Dash, 7th in the Discus,  and was on the 4 x 200m Relay team that took 3rd, along with Josh Akkerman, Brady Doyle, and Eric Pea.  Joe was also on the 4th place 4 x 400m Relay with Derrick Fox, Brady Doyle, and KT Lovell.

Hong Bing Tank had a couple of good races on the day, finishing 3rd in both the 1600m and 3200m Runs.  Hong Bing ran a personal best in the 1600m Run, posting a 4:44.13.

Derrick Fox ran with Clayton Kuiper, Jacob Gleason, and Evan Waters to place 7th in the 4 x 800m Relay.

Devon Gard set a personal best in the High Jump, 5’ 07”, good for 3rd Place, and then ran a personal best in the 300m Hurdles, (45.24), for 6th place.

And Joseph Owczarek placed 6th in the Long Jump
