Boys Varsity Track · Men’s Track wins the Brandon Tri-County Invite!

The Lake Orion Men’s Track and Field Team competed in the Brandon Tri-County Invitational this past Friday, winning the relay format event with 114 points, over Oak Park, (85 pts.), Rochester Adams, (80 pts.), Rochester Hills Stoney Creek, (61 pts.), Holly, (50 pts.), Ortonville Brandon, (47 pts.), Burton-Bendle, (26 pts.), Madison Heights Lamphere, (25 pts.), Ferndale, (12 pts.), and Oakland Christian, (9 pts.).

The Dragons won the Shuttle Hurdle Relay with Thomas Moreman, David Yonkers, Matt McAuliffe, and Mitchell Duffy competing.

Sebastain Marku won the Discus, and together with Matthew Freeman had the best combined distance, winning the event.

Zach Dinverno won the Pole Vault, and Nicholas Campbell was second, to win the Pole Vault Relay.

The Field Event/Heavy Man’s 400m Relay, with Nicholas Campbell, Sebastian Marku, Jesus Cruz, and Matt Freeman coming from behind to win.

Individually, Thomas Moreman won the 300m Hurdles and the High Jump with a 6’2” effort and Sophomore Andrew Nolan won the 3200m Run with a PR of 9:56.28.

The Dragons were 2nd or 3rd in all the  remaining events, to demonstrate their depth in the team victory.

-Distance Medley Relay-2nd:  Nolan Maupin, Chase McBride, Matthew Mulligan, 

and Ryan Mulcahy.

-400m Relay-3rd: Caleb Campbell, Matt Freeman, Amaru Abdul-Raheem, and 

Mason Koncelik.

-800m Relay-3rd: Caleb Campbell, Matt Freeman, Sam Knight, and Mason 


-1600m Relay-3rd:  Doug Mason, Nathan Hammond, Nolan Maupin, and Sam 


-3200m Relay-3rd:  Chase McBride, Nathan Hammond, Matthew Mulligan, and 

Ryan Mulcahy. 

-Sprint Medley Relay-3rd:  Mitchell Duffy, Sam Guenther, Amaru Abdul-Raheem, 

and Doug Mason.

-Long Jump Relay-3rd:  Amaru Abdul-Raheem and Sam Guenther.

-Shot Put Relay-3rd:  Sebastian Marku and Jesus Cruz.
