Girls Varsity Competitive Cheer · Lake Orion Varsity Cheer Going Back to the State Finals


On Saturday, February 24, Brighton High School was host to the Regional Level of the MHSAA Cheerleading State Tournament.  The Dragons were one of 12 teams competing in the regional and had to finish in the top four to qualify for the state finals.  After the first two rounds, the Dragons found themselves in 5th, but less than 2 points of of 3rd.  The Dragons nailed round three and put themselves in 4th position, earning another trip back to the state finals.  The girls will compete in the Division One State Championships held at the Delta Plex in Grand Rapids on Friday March 2nd at 6:00 pm.   The Dragons are one of the elite 8 in the State of Michigan competing for the state title.  They also be one of four teams from the OAA Red that qualified for the weekend.   The OAA continues to be one of the premier athletic leagues in the state of Michigan.
